Defying the usual crapness associated with buffet restaurants Efes redefines what it is to walk up to a rather large table and help yourself to food! Everything, and I really mean everything is very fresh, hot (if it is meant to be!) and pretty darn tasty, the salads were fresh, crisp and *without* dressing (a choice of several were available in dishes should you desire to drown your leaves, tomatoes and cucumber in something zingy!) pizza (several types) pasta (including spagbol, lasagne and caneloni), a kind of potato bake with cheese, lamb cutlets (which were delicious!), kebabs, chicken stir fry, several rices, meatballs, garlic mushrooms and a whole array of deep fried goodies like spring rolls, prawns, tempura, curly fries and feta triangles to mention a few... (I'm more than full already!) before heading on to the sweet section which includes one of the best baked cheesecakes I have ever tasted... I am amazed, quite how Efes manage to provide all this for such a measly sum is quite remarkable. One clue to how this may be possible could be in the price of the drinks, when asked if we wanted a drink I enquired about the cost of the beers, asking quite bluntly 'are they expensive?' the cheerful, convivial good natured and slightly cheeky waiter (Alpert) replied "YES" with a big smile, but actually, they were around £3 for a 330ml bottle, which isn't too bad really, and well, you have to grant them this slight price hike given the absolutely stunning value in the food! I'd go as far to say, really, you should be planning on buying at least a couple of drinks to make this whole deal a bit fairer - although of course this is entirely optional!
In a word - YES - we like, and I shall definitely be returning for one of their £3 lunchtime special buffet lunchboxes (as much as you can cram into their box!)
Lovely! Cheers to DD for the recommendation! You know who you are he he
